Trauma sensitive yoga

I was trained in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) in 2020. TCTSY is an evidenced-based clinical treatment for complex and chronic trauma or PTSD, developed by David Emerson and Jenn Turner of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute. Research has found that TCTSY increases participants' sense of safety and connection in their own bodies, decreases dissociation and flashbacks, improves emotional self-regulation, and empowers choices in other areas of their lives.

Each yoga form and movement is an invitation and participants are given an opportunity to make choices, be present in the moment, and notice feelings in a way that is useful to them. No previous yoga experience is necessary and TCTSY can be practiced on a mat or chair. Because the physical expression of the yoga form is less important than the inner experience, there are no physical assists.

“This should be of no surprise when we realize that a common denominator of all traumas is an alienation and disconnection from the body and a reduced capacity to be present in the here and now.”

-David Emerson-

Expressive Art Therapy

I often bring creativity into the therapeutic process, along with talk therapy. Using creative modalities, such as poetry, music, and art provides opportunities to communicate in a different way, often leading to greater insight, transformation, and positive change. I have taken additional training on the use of creativity in counseling, in order to assist those I work with in the healing process.

I have several different creative mediums available, such as clay, oil pastels, markers, and collage materials that can be used to explore and make what was previously invisible, visible. Clients have brought their journals, artwork, and musical instruments to sessions, as well. Research is showing that creativity has the power to improve cognitive functioning, reduce pain, increase our ability to manage stress and improve the quality of life.

Art is a wound turned into light.

INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS

As an IFS-informed practitioner, I integrate the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy into my work, supporting clients as they explore the complex inner world of their thoughts, emotions, and patterns. IFS views the mind as composed of distinct “parts,” each with its own role, burden, and intention.

At the heart of IFS is the understanding that every part has a positive intention, even if its strategies cause distress. Healing does not involve banishing or suppressing these parts — instead, it arises through curiosity, compassion, and connection. By gently turning toward these parts with respect and openness, clients begin to unburden long-held pain and beliefs.

Beneath all parts is the Self — a calm, compassionate, and curious presence that can lead the internal system with wisdom and care. When we create space for the Self to lead, healing, integration, and deep transformation become not only possible but natural.

Parts are little inner beings who are trying their best to keep you safe.

-Richard C. Schwartz-

SoulCollage®

SoulCollage® is a creative and intuitive process in which you make collage cards using images that reflect the many different aspects of yourself. Creating and working with your SoulCollage® cards can deepen self-awareness, enhance insight, and help you connect with your inner wisdom and truth. Over time, you’ll build a personal deck of cards that holds deep meaning and offers a powerful tool for exploring your Soul. By shining a light on all our “parts”—those we welcome, as well as those that may be challenging, hidden, or unwanted—we open ourselves to the possibility of accepting and healing every aspect of who we are. Your cards can also give form to your dreams, emotions, and the experiences that have influenced your life and shaped your identity.

This process beautifully complements Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. No artistic experience is needed—just curiosity and an open heart—to create a meaningful and life-affirming deck of cards.

The only journey is the one within.

EMDR Therapy Intensives

Your Healing Intensive Options

EMDR packages are preceded by two 50–60 minute preparatory sessions and followed by one post-intensive integration session. The initial sessions give us a chance to get to know each other and build a trusting connection, clarify your goals for the Intensive, and identify important memories or themes to focus on. The post-intensive session helps you ground and stabilize your emotions, integrate the insights and healing you experienced, and develop practical tools to support yourself moving forward. It also provides space to reflect on your progress, process any lingering feelings, and strengthen your sense of safety and resilience as you continue your healing journey.

3-hour half Day Renewal $1050 (2 pre and 1 post intensive sessions included)

A compassionate, focused space to tend to one memory, feeling, or part of you that’s been hurting. We’ll work at a pace that feels safe, helping you leave with a lighter emotional load, steadier footing, and practical tools to support yourself in the days ahead.

1-Day 5 hours-Focused Healing $1400 (2 pre and 1 post intensive sessions included)

A full day devoted entirely to you. Together, we’ll explore and release a core theme or cluster of memories, making room for self-compassion, relief, and a stronger sense of connection.

3-Day 5 hours each day-Transformational Intensive $2625 (2 pre and 1 post intensive sessions included)

Three days to immerse yourself in meaningful change. We’ll gently tend to attachment wounds, release the grip of old trauma, and rebuild trust in yourself and your relationships — so you can move forward with more freedom and peace. We’ll work together to determine how many hours and days work best for your therapy goals during our initial consultation. These days can be consecutive or spread out over time.

Due to the focused and concentrated nature of EMDR Intensives, I offer these sessions in person only.

Weekend Rates Add $25 per Hour

Call or email me to schedule a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit to work together. If so, before our first appointment, I’ll send you a HIPAA-compliant link to complete your intake forms online.

I am currently seeing clients at my New London, NH office and through teletherapy for New Hampshire and Vermont residents. I use a Hippa Compliant Video Platform for online sessions.

Beginning January 1, 2022, federal laws regulating client care have been updated to include the “No Surprises” Act. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services called a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
-Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
-If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
